These custom made Neverending Story Auryn pendants are cast in metal, plated in gold and silver and come with a gold plated chain. These screen accurate replicas are the same as the original prop. Both sides of the pendant are three dimensional and plated to be screen accurate to the original. This is one of the few iconic pieces from The Neverending Story. We offer both styles from The Neverending Story 1 & 2. Auryn is a talisman from the novel Die Unendliche Geschicte (The Neverending Story), also featured in the movie as a mystical necklace referenced as "The Gem - The Glory". Two mythological serpents intertwined symmetrically and biting one another's tail. Duality is what the two snakes represent. The dual nature of the two worlds, one Phantásien (Fantastica or Fantasia) and the other Reality. Also Auryn stands for the twin nature of the two snakes, and their mutual creation and destruction. The ancient symbol of snakes biting each other, or ouroboros, can be seen in various cultures from history. The colors: Gold is often associated with the sun and silver with the moon, two major celestial bodies that are opposites, but share the same sky and move in predictable cycles.
